I just wanted to check in quickly for an update. I’ve been almost absorbed by life details lately, but I’m still hanging in there and knitting at every opportunity. I’ve missed regularly checking in on all my favorite blogs and have a lot of catch up to do…. and I’m looking forward to it.

I got a little busy in Ravelry (I’m SjHCountryGirl on Ravelry) before somehow injuring my left shoulder. I’m totally clueless as to how I did it. I guess my pitching career is over since an MRI has clearly shown THIS combined with shoulder impingement and rotator cuff issues. Well, ouch! I am currently unable to reach back or up with my left arm without feeling that someone has their pliers imbedded in my shoulder and is clamping down full force with them on tender internal shoulder parts to the point of tears, literally. So, I’ve not been going out of the house much and have been closely attached to ice packs and the heating pad and wafting the scent of my Ben-Gay’d shoulder. You know, it’s knida scary because I’m really starting to like the smell of Ben-Gay. My physician asked if I wanted to go straight to the orthopedic surgeon, or if I preferred to attempt to stave off surgery by a shoulder injection. Of course, I said *set up the injection*. However, their entire system of computers city-wide went down in a recent storm and took days to rebuild….and in the chaos it was a few weeks before I could get back for the injection. I should be injected on Tuesday…. if I haven’t gnawed this nagging painful shoulder and arm off by then! : )

Also, things have really ramped up on the issues surrounding my grandmother’s death. That has been occupying much of my time and results in sleepless nights, many tears, and dealing regularly with one of the most hideous practices imaginable. After the necessary participation in ongoing efforts to stop THIS and hold those responsible accountable, I’ve just not had anything left in me to invest in computer time or blogging.

However, I have continued to pray for each of you and keep you in my heart and thoughts daily.

On the GOOD news front:

1. Check Susan’s blog for a miracle report!!! : ) This is certainly answered prayer. We love you, Susan!

2. Our daughter, Amanda, and our son-in-love, Ryan, are moving back to central OK. We are all thrilled! Ryan was offered a mechanical engineer position with THIS company. They will be here within a month. We are happy dancin’! (It is not easy to happy dance without moving my left arm….nor fix my hair, nor many other things I have always taken for granted.)

I’m planning on a big post with lots of pictures and lots of knitting content this weekend. Enjoy the holiday everyone and know that I’ve really missed you!

Your Friend,

Shelly

Psalm 95: 6-8

6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker, 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice, 8 do not harden your hearts ….
