Let me say first, I value my family and friends. I care about them. I care about each of you.

I am asking that you read this post in its entirety and view the links and embedded videos. I haven’t posted in months and would ask that you not stop short before fully reading this post.

I am thrilled you are engaged in the election process and you have every right to vote for whomever you desire.

However, it is very painful to see so many vehemently supporting Obama.

See this site (quoted below) that explains his current position on involuntary euthanasia.

Terri Schiavo

Asked in last night’s debate to name a regret, Sen. Barack Obama said he would like to take back his vote authorizing Congress to intervene to save the life of the brain-injured Florida woman Terri Schiavo.

Remember, my grandmother was involuntarily euthanized in hospice care *without* any terminal illness, fully awake and alert and speaking with those around her, at my aunt’s request … in Obama’s home state of IL. Obama and his fellow liberal Democrats fully approved and they continue to approve.

There was no review committee to review that my grandmother met any type of criteria before the terminal sedation protocol was started on my innocent and unaware grandmother. There was no notification of family members. There was no oversight committee. One person with a power of attorney can request it and it’s essentially murder for hire … and funded by our tax dollars. Her bank account had been drained, she didn’t sleep through the night for 3 nights prior, so they (my aunt in IL) decided it was time that she *move on*.

See this site that explains Obama’s position on partial birth abortion. A quote follows:

Obama’s Abortion Extremism

But Obama’s record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion — a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called “too close to infanticide.” Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be “punished with a baby” because of a crisis pregnancy — hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life.

Partial birth abortion is performed in the 3rd trimester …. during the time a baby can survive with some support, or without any support! I have worked in pediatric ICU and NICU. We routinely witnessed babies delivered at this gestational age survive and thrive! In these situations a normal delivery or C-section would solve the problem. There is NO NEED for death!

Obama even believes that an infant that has survived an abortion should be refused any medical care. Now, how in our hearts do we think that is acceptable? What kind of heart is in this man?

Have you seen an abortion? Have you cared for a child in an NICU? Have you stayed up all night comforting a friend that regrets having an abortion? Are we as voters showing approval of something so enormously painful and such a great loss with our vote? Can we support this?

Are the Democrats blameless in the current financial crisis?

And there’s so much more.

Oh no, none are innocent in this debacle. Even the public that bought homes they could not afford have blame here. We are in a day that living on credit is the norm, having substantial savings is considered to be *boring* or *restricting*, and spending on immediate wants rather than long term needs is the *cool* thing to do.

Well, it’s time we look at our position and become responsible adults. There are many things so much more important than our own wants. There are much larger issues than what is the current status of our 401K or our stock portfolio. It’s also time that we look past ourselves and look to provide help and safety to those around us that cannot do that for themselves. They had no choice in their circumstances, yet they are sacrificed with ease and the approval of so many … Obama among them.

In summary, if we are not willing to protect the babies, the elderly, and the sick or disabled … then what are we doing here? What have we become?

Although I am not a Catholic, as a Christian, I totally support and agree with their message.

Your Friend,

Shelly

Psalm 10:12

Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless.

Psalm 10:17-18

17 You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
